1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a site, so that the site recognises you as you move between pages. Browser storage (localStorage), which does the same job, is also covered here; we describe the two together.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
Without these the site does not work: your session would not stay open, security checks could not run, and your language and theme choices would not be remembered. They fall under Article 5/2-f, require no consent and cannot be switched off. This is the whole set we write. We write no cookie that is missing from the table below.
| What it does | Name shown in your browser | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Keeps you signed in | wb_gate | For the session |
| Renews your session securely without asking for your details again | wb_refresh | For the session |
| Remembers the language you chose (Turkish / English) | wb_locale | 1 year |
| Remembers whether you prefer the light or the dark theme | wb_theme | Until you clear it |
3. Analytics cookies: not used today
If we ever start writing a cookie for analytics this policy is updated, and consent is still taken through the analytics switch under Settings › My consents. The switch arrives off by default, explicit consent can always be withdrawn (Article 7), and while it is off no feature of the site is disabled.
4. Marketing cookies: not used
5. Controlling cookies
- We ask for no consent for the strictly necessary cookies: the site does not work without them and they fall under Article 5/2-f.
- If you have an account, the analytics switch under Settings › My consents controls whether events measuring which screens are used are sent and whether what became of the recommendations shown to you is recorded tied to your account. Its scope is set out in the Explicit Consent Statement.
- You can block cookies entirely in your browser settings; in that case your session cannot stay open and you will not be able to sign in.
6. How long cookies are kept
Each cookie lifetime is listed in the table above: session cookies expire when you close your browser, the language cookie expires after a year, and the theme preference stays until you clear it. If the set of cookies we write changes, this policy is updated and the effective date at the top of the page changes with it. Write to support@warmbreak.com with any questions.
